Oh Happy Day is a Danish film directed by Hella Joof (Shake It, Almost Perfect) produced with Nordisk Film that sees a Baptist preacher from Harlem get stranded in a provincial Danish town, after a bus accident involving his touring gospel choir occurs. Alone amidst suspicious Danes, the preacher teaches the local church choir to sing gospel music and touches the life of one bored housewife in particular.



The film received many nominations and awards at festivals worldwide, including Best Actress Nomination for Lotte Andersen at the Bodil Awards, a GLAAD Media Award nomination, and six nominations at the Robert Festival. The soundtrack was composed by Grammy-nominated and best-selling international artist, Rick Astley.
